Brookside is situated on the outskirts of Lowville, the County seat of agriculturally rich Lewis County, just 25 miles south west of Fort Drum. This small, close-knit community at the base of the Adirondack Mountain region has a population of around 4,000, and all of the friendliness and advantages one would expect from a small town. Lowville’s downtown business district is less than a mile from Brookside and the surrounding views, in almost every direction, are open fields and dairy farms. The local county hospital provides extensive medical services, many churches are just a short drive in town and transportation is available by Brookside for those residents who do not drive.
If you do take a drive, delight yourself with the spectacular view of the new Maple Ridge Wind Farm that is just minutes from Brookside.
